An off-duty Mount Joy Borough Police officer struck multiple mailboxes and vehicles in West Hempfield Township while operating a motor vehicle on Wednesday, according to state police.
Sgt. Kyle Hosking, who is listed as an Adjunct Lecturer in Sociology-Criminal Justice on Albright College’s website, was identified by Pennsylvania State Police as the operator of the vehicle that caused the crashes.
According to state police, the initial crash occurred when Hosking struck a mailbox and cable box at a residence. Hosking then hit a PT Cruiser, continuing on his way and striking several mailboxes. Next, Hosking hit a parked vehicle on the shoulder of the road. He then struck a vehicle head on. Finally, he hit a fourth vehicle before coming to a stop on the side of the road.
Hosking has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
