Claims of Trump’s Russian collusion by Ms. Clinton, FBI’s McCabe and Strzok, Congressmen Schiff and Nadler, and the media citing the Steele dossier, induced FBI’s Comey to initiate the Mueller investigation. After 2 years Mueller was unfamiliar with his own report (e.g., Fusion GPS), but his 16 Democrat assistant prosecutors reported no collusion evidence. That’s consistent with the CIA’s Brennan briefing of President Obama and VP Biden (Brennan’s 2016 meeting notes released via Freedom of Information) that Ms. Clinton had actually launched the effort to tie Trump to Russia, which was re-confirmed by her campaign manager Mr. Mook during Mr. Sussman’s 2022 trial.
This sensation unfolded just before the 2018 election, whereupon voters installed Democrats to lead the House and Senate. These Congressional representatives then announced that they were joining the Trump resistance.
Prior to the 2020 election, reports of VP Biden’s son’s (Hunter) laptop surfaced but were dismissed as “Russian disinformation” by more than 50 former intelligence officials. Prompted by this rebuke, TV, newspapers, FB and Twitter markedly limited any mention of the laptop. Investigations after the election by NYT/WAPO reversed their initial assessment, verifying the laptop was indeed Hunter’s, which was corroborated by Hunter’s business partner Mr. Bobolinski on national TV.
Mr. Biden defeated Mr. Trump in 2020 despite Republican’s efforts to expose the laptop’s contents.
Recent surveys indicate 10% of Democrats might have changed their vote had they known.
Now, just before the 2022 midterms, two more challenges of Mr. Trump have surfaced. First the DOJ/FBI raid to recover classified documents. Some have said Trump had authority to declassify documents because he was “the Executive Branch,” while ex-CIA Chief Hayden likened Trump to the executed spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg.
And this week, New York AG Letitia James, who campaigned to “get Trump” before she was even elected, and before she ever saw any evidence, announced a lawsuit against Trump and his children. Are these more efforts to impugn Trump, and therefore all Republicans, so close to the election that any exoneration would arrive too late, as it had been in the 2018 midterms?
