Emergency medical personnel arrived on scene shortly after and continued the lifesaving efforts.
The victim was transported to a medical facility and reportedly regained breathing and a pulse.
“Due to the quick actions of Officer Derek Oleszczuk and an involved bystander the victim survived this life-threatening event,” the police statement said. “Congratulations to all for their involvement in this endeavor. The fitness facility should be recognized and commended for having an AED unit readily available for emergency use.”
