President Joe Biden told reporters at a press conference in Vietnam that he had to go to bed.
“It is evening, isn’t it? This around the world in five days is interesting,” Biden said at the beginning of the September 10 press conference.
Near the end of the press conference, Biden responded to a question about the conflict between China and the United States and then said it was time to go to bed.
“Nobody likes having celebrated international meetings if you don’t know what you want at the meeting. If you don’t have a game plan. He may have a game plan, he just hasn’t shared it with me. But I tell you what, I don’t know about you, but I’m gonna go to bed.”
Laughter could be heard from the audience after Biden’s comment.
A reporter then asked Biden about his meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
“Yeah, we talked…we talked about…we talked about it at the conference. Overall, we talked about stability,” Biden said. “We talked about making sure that the Third World, the Third World….the Southern Hemisphere had access to change. It had access. It wasn’t confrontational at all.”
The press appearance in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi came two days after Biden’s involvement in the G20 Summit in India. During his trip to Vietnam, Biden entered a strategic partnership with the country. According to Reuters, Biden said the two nations were working together on cloud computing, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.
Commentator and Daily Wire podcast host Ben Shapiro responded to the viral video by claiming that Biden is “physically” and “mentally” feeble.
“[Biden] apparently is capable of allowing a sound to emerge from his mouth only once every five or six seconds before he has to tell people that he is ready for his beddie-bye, his warm cup of milk, and a big, big hug from his night nurse – presumably his press secretary,” Shapiro said on Monday’s episode of The Ben Shapiro Show.
