An explosion at a Reading chocolate factory has left at least two people dead and several more missing as of Friday evening.

Around 5 p.m. on Friday evening, firefighters responded to R.M. Palmer Company in Reading for a reported explosion and multi-alarm fire.

Video footage released online shows a massive explosion tossing debris hundreds of feet upward, and smoke filling the air. The blast could be felt several blocks away, according to police.

At a Friday night press conference, Reading Police Chief Wayne Holben told media that at least nine people were still missing.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
