An Ephrata woman was killed, and her husband seriously injured, in an all-terrain vehicle crash Saturday evening in Huntingdon County.
Amanda Hoffert, 34, of Ephrata was a passenger on an ATV that overturned after going into a ditch off Block Hollow Road in Tell Township. She died at the scene of the crash, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Her husband, Bret Hoffert, 36, was driving the vehicle and was flown to Pittsburg Presbyterian Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
A GoFundMe fundraiser organized by Kourtney Randsdorp to support the Hoffert family with funeral expenses, medical bills, and care for their four young children has raised over $115,000 in less than 24 hours.
“Amanda was a wonderful human being,” a post from Lititz Family Chiropractic reads. “Kind, caring and funny. She always had such an amazing energy and attitude for life. Her love for her children and Bret shone through. Thank you Jesus for welcoming Amanda into your Kingdom. God bless Bret and the children during this time of healing.”
