In 2020, Gabe Rench was arrested for refusing to wear a mask at an outdoor Psalm-singing event in Moscow, Idaho. Rench was acquitted in his criminal case shortly thereafter, and Rench sued the City of Moscow for their actions against him. Finally, over two years later, a United States District judge has ruled in favor of Rench. According to a press release, Rench was pleased with the outcome: “Yes, this is a constitutional victory for Idahoans, but it is also a showcase of how dumb petty, tyrannical mayors and unelected city officials can be, and where they end up when abused citizens have the endurance to fight back and defend their rights.” In this episode of The Lancaster Patriot podcast, Rench joins The Lancaster Patriot managing editor Chris Hume to discuss the case, the need for righteous magistrates, and the importance of Christian community.
