All things work according to the council of His good pleasure and they also work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. It was not His purpose for you to establish a biblically based weekly newspaper in Lancaster County at this time. And so a door is closed and God will open another door. I like the idea of your continuing online as a family ministry.
The question is how will this ministry take shape and what will be the goals and objectives of the ministry? I have been around for a long time and I believe God’s people are being destroyed for lack of knowledge regarding the comprehensive nature of the regenerative change that takes place when an unregenerate “natural man” is changed into a “spiritual man of God.”
What opened my eyes was when the Lord revealed to me that I was ignorant of the importance of the change of standing that took place when the Holy Spirit sovereignly reformed me into a new creation in Christ Jesus.
For what is worth I believe there is a need for God’s people to begin to comprehend how civil law with all its rules and regulations differs from the common or natural law.
Most people are unaware that there are Maxims of Law that are fixed and important for us to know, such as:
The law of God and the law of the land are all ONE, and both preserve and favor the common and public good of the land.” Keiw. 191 Maxim of Law
The “LAW OF GOD” is already in place in the states of the Union.
The trouble is God’s people have unknowingly CONSENTED to be governed by the “civil” or “Roman” law that pertains “solely” to subject citizens of the United States – i.e. federal citizens.
The Law of the Land is now generally regarded as meaning general public laws common and binding on all the people. It means “due process of law” warranted by the Constitution and by the “common law” adopted by the Constitution or by statutes passed in pursuance of the Constitution.
Roman Law in a general sense, comprehends all the laws which prevailed among the Romans without regard to the time of their origin, including the collections of Justinian. In England and America, it appears to be customary to use the phrase, indifferently with “the civil law,” to designate the whole system of Roman jurisprudence, including the “Corpus Juris Civilis.”
Dave & Jen, why would God’s people want to CONSENT to be governed by “the civil law” when we are free and at liberty to remain under the common law aka the Law of God and the Law of the Land which are all one law?
I truly believe God has closed the door on your local newspaper because he has a greater more important job for you to do. I will keep both of you and Chris in my prayers.
