Patriots of Lancaster County will host a four-hour event Saturday that will include several speeches and a roundtable question-and-answer session featuring members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
Nine members of the Pennsylvania Freedom Caucus will participate in a roundtable session moderated by Sam Faddis. The Pennsylvania Freedom Caucus was established to reign in government regulations, promote zero-based budgeting and address other issues that have increased the scope and powers of government in Pennsylvania.
Freedom Caucus members scheduled to participate in the event include Representatives Windy Fink, Barb Gleim, Mike Jones, Tom Jones, Dawn Keefer, David Rowe, and Dave Zimmerman.
In addition to the roundtable discussion, numerous speakers are slated to give brief addresses, including J.R. McGee, Trevor Loudon, and Josh Prince. (Prince, an attorney, is currently representing Reuben King, a Lancaster County man who is facing potential jailtime for selling rifles and shotguns.)
Peggy Buhalo, who founded Patriots of Lancaster County in 2001, told The Lancaster Patriot that the event is part of the group’s effort to promote grassroots involvement in counties across Pennsylvania, bring together various grassroots groups from across the state, and provide an opportunity for collaboration with each other and interaction with members of the Freedom Caucus.
“I am immensely excited about this event because different county grassroots groups are coming together,” Buhalo said. “I’d really like to see the grassroots movement working side-by-side with the Freedom Caucus to make a difference in our state.”
The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 14 from 1-5 p.m. at King’s Farm in Quarryville (448 Springville Road).
The event is free and registration is not required. Food will be available for sale on site.
Questions for participating Freedom Caucus Members can be submitted prior to the event by emailing patriotsoflancaster@gmail.com.
